ਦਰਬੁ ਸੰਚਿ ਸੰਚਿ ਰਾਜੇ ਮੂਏ ਗਡਿ ਲੇ ਕੰਚਨ ਭਾਰੀ ॥ ਬੇਦ ਪੜੇ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੂਏ ਰੂਪੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
The kings die, gathering and hoarding their money, and burying great quantities of gold. The Pandits die, reading and reciting the Vedas; women die, constantly looking at their own beauty.
ਪਾਠੁ ਪੜਿਓ ਅਰੁ ਬੇਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਨਿਵਲਿ ਭੁਅੰਗਮ ਸਾਧੇ ॥ ਪੰਚ ਜਨਾ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗੁ ਨ ਛੁਟਕਿਓ ਅਧਿਕ ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਬਾਧੇ ॥
People read scriptures, and contemplate the Vedas; they practice the inner cleansing techniques of Yoga, and control of the breath. But they cannot escape from the company of the five evil passions; they are rather increasingly bound to ego. >>> for the next year 2025
ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ ਬੇਦ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥ ਭਰਮੇ ਭੂਲਾ ਤਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਏ ਦੁਖੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥
The religious scholars recite the scriptures like Simritees, the Shaastras and the Vedas, but deluded by doubt, they do not understand the essence of reality (Vaheguru). Without serving the True Guru, they find no peace; they earn only pain and distress.
ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਣਾ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਤਾਰਣਾ ਬੇਦ ਉਚਾਰ ਨਹੀ ਅੰਤੁ ਪਾਇਓ ॥
O Vaheguru, the Purifier of sinners and the Saviour of beings and creatures, even those who recite the Vedas have not found Your limit.
ਭਾਈ ਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇ ਨਾਰਦੈ ਬੇਦ ਬਿਆਸੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
O Siblings, without the Guru, one can’t attain spiritual wisdom. (Those who doubt it can) go and ask Brahma, Naarad and Vyaas, the compiler of the Vedas. >>> for the next year 2025
