ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਾ ਗੁਨੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਧਿਕਾਈ ਪੜਿ ਸੂਆ ਗਨਕ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥

The goodness of the Sangat is so very great. Even Ganika, the prostitute, was saved by teaching the parrot to speak the Lord's Name.

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਬਿਖੁ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਲਗਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥

The rust of poisonous sins from many births sticks to us; joining the Sangat, it is so thoroughly cleaned away.

ਬਿਨੁ ਸੰਗਤੀ ਸਭਿ ਐਸੇ ਰਹਹਿ ਜੈਸੇ ਪਸੁ ਢੋਰ ॥

Without the Sangat, all remain like beasts and animals.
