One who is unaffected by praise or slander, and who looks upon gold and iron as the same -

ਕੰਚਨੁ

ਗੁਰ ਪਾਰਸ ਹਮ ਲੋਹ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥

The Guru is the philosopher’s stone (Paaras), and we are iron. (Just as iron is transformed on meeting Paaras,) we too are turned into gold by meeting the Guru.
